The People Behind the Places
We grew up here. This is the Ghana we know, and the people we would want you to meet if you were visiting a friend.
From Passion to Purpose
People & Places began with a frustration we kept running into. Visitors were seeing Ghana from the outside: through hotel windows, through bus glass, never quite close enough to meet anyone.
We are Ghanaians with roots across Accra, Cape Coast, and the Volta Region, so we knew what they were missing. In 2021 we started hosting the trips we wished those visitors had been on.
Since then we have hosted more than 300 guests. What we hear most often is not that Ghana was beautiful, though it is. It is that they felt looked after.
A Return, and a Welcome
For those tracing an ancestry that was interrupted, Ghana is not a destination — it is a return. For everyone else, it is one of the most generous countries you will ever be welcomed into.
We host both, and we do not pretend they are the same journey. Ghanaian-founded, Ghanaian-led, and built with the communities we visit.

The Difference Is Real
These are the things we decided to be careful about from the beginning, and the reasons guests tell us the trip felt different.
Authentic Local Guides
Every guide on our team was born and raised in Ghana. They speak the language, know the people, and will take you places no guidebook ever could.
Careful, Attentive Hosting
Reliable, well-maintained vehicles suited to each route, and hosts who know the terrain. Safety is built into the plan rather than added to it.
Comfortable, Handled Logistics
Air-conditioned vehicles, comfortable accommodations on multi-day tours, and every logistic detail handled so you can just show up.
Community First
We hire locally and buy locally wherever we can, supporting the same communities and craftspeople we bring you to meet.
Tailored Experiences
No two groups are the same. We shape each trip around your interests, your pace, and how many of you are travelling, whether that is one person or fifteen.
Responsive Support
We usually reply within one hour during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm), and we stay reachable on WhatsApp from your first message to the day you fly home.
Ghana-Founded, Ghana-Led
People & Places is a team of hosts, guides and drivers across Ghana. It was started in 2021 by two of us, and one of us still answers when you write.
Co-founded People & Places in 2021. Nana builds and runs the technical side: this website, the planning tools behind it, and the systems that carry your messages to a person rather than a queue.
Co-founded People & Places in 2021. Kojo runs the company day to day and leads the team on the ground: the routes, the hosts, the timings, and the hundred small details that decide whether a day feels easy.

Your guide is Ghanaian and grew up in the places they take you. We have hosted more than 300 guests since 2021, and Kojo, who co-founded People & Places, runs the trips and leads the team on the ground.

Yes. We already partner with other tour companies and travel partners to host their clients in Ghana, and we are always open to more. If you are putting Ghana experiences together for the people you look after, write to us and we will talk through what working together could look like.

This is one of our specialties. We've been helping members of the African diaspora reconnect with their roots since our founding. Our heritage tours include Cape Coast Castle visits and meetings with local communities. Contact us for a custom homecoming package.

Most full-day tours depart at 7:00am to beat the Accra traffic and make the most of daylight hours. Half-day tours typically begin at 8:00am or 1:00pm. Exact pickup times are confirmed during booking based on your hotel location.
