Why is the Kumasi tour more expensive than other day tours?
Distance and time. Kumasi is 4–5 hours from Accra each way, making it a 12+ hour day. The price covers everything: guide, transport, all entrance fees, and meals.
What do we visit?
Manhyia Palace Museum (seat of the Ashanti Kingdom), Kejetia Market (West Africa's largest market), Kente weaving villages, and the Kumasi Cultural Center.
Can I stay overnight in Kumasi?
Yes — and we'd recommend it to avoid the very long return drive. We can arrange a one or two-night stay as an add-on. Ask when booking.
How long is the drive from Accra?
4–5 hours each way. We depart very early (around 5am) to arrive when the markets and palace are at their best.
What makes the Manhyia Palace visit special?
The Ashanti Kingdom is still active — the Asantehene (king) resides at the new palace next door. The museum holds extraordinary artifacts and the story of a civilization that resisted European colonization longer than almost any other.
What should I bring?
Comfortable shoes, a camera, and an appetite. Kumasi's food scene — kelewele, fufu, kontomire stew — is extraordinary.
